Tata Power commissions 100 MW solar project in Gujarat

The latest addition takes Tata Power Renewable Energy’s total installed capacity to 2,797 MW, including 1,865 MW of solar and 932 MW wind.

In a release issued today, Tata Power announced its arm Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has commissioned a 100 MW PV project at Raghanesda Solar Park in the Indian State of Gujarat. This project is expected to generate 255 million units of electricity in the first year of its operation, helping to offset 200,000 tonnes of carbon emission every year. 

Raghanesda Solar Park, located in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat, is one of the biggest solar parks in the country.

TPREL was awarded the project by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). With this addition of 100 MW, the total installed capacity of TPREL has reached 2,797 MW, including 1,865 MW of solar and 932 MW wind. It has another 1,234 MW of renewable projects under implementation.

Despite the various challenges faced on account of Covid 19, TPREL, through Tata Power’s EPC arm Tata Power Solar Systems, successfully completed the project within the scheduled timelines.
