NLC India signs 300 MW solar power deal with Rajasthan discom

NLC has signed a long-term power usage agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL). Under the agreement, it will supply power from its 300 MW PV plant for the next 25 years.

NLC India Ltd, a coal mining company under the Ministry of Coal, announced that it has signed a long-term power usage agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL) for 300 MW solar capacity.

The solar capacity is part of a 510 MW PV project secured by NLC India through competitive bidding. The project was awarded under the second phase of the CPSU Scheme, Tranche-III, floated by Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA).

The 300 MW solar project capacity is under execution at Barsingsar in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The EPC contract for the project has been awarded to Tata Power Solar Systems.

At present, NLC has 1,421 MW of installed renewable energy capacity. It aims to establish 6,031 MW of capacity by 2030.
